Google ChromeGoogle has pushed out a new version of Chrome 3, taking it to version 3.0.195.32. The release fixes 5 stability issues, and plugs 2 security vulnerabilities.

The first security issue which was rated as medium where user were not warned for some file types that could execute JavaScript. The second security issue was rated as high and could have caused a memory corruption in the Gears plugin.

The update will be pushed out to existing Chrome users, or can be downloaded from the Google Chrome website.

OperaOpera has also pushed out a new version of its browser yesterday, bringing with it stability and security fixes.

Opera 10.01 includes 3 security fixes, 1 of which is rated as extremely severe, while the other 2 are rated as less severe.

The release also fixes 15 other stability issues. A full list of changes can be found in the changelog.

Google Chrome

Google has pushed out a new version of Google Chrome to users, version 3.0.195.27.

The releases fixes a few issues:

  • Fixed an issue where menu items for certain Indian languages were not properly visible.
  • Add support to blacklist the faux www.paypal.com certificate.
  • Added NTLMv2 support on Windows.
  • FFmpeg files now properly have NX/DBCompat enabled.
  • V8 crash fix.

The update will be pushed out to current Chrome users automatically, or can be downloaded from the Google Chrome website.

Apple has released a new version of Safari, fixing several security and stability issues.

SafariThe update according to Apple includes the following changes:

  • Stability improvements for webpages that use the HTML 5 video tag
  • Stability improvements for 3rd-party plug-ins
  • Stability improvements for Top Sites
  • Fixes an issue that prevented some users from logging into iWork.com
  • Fixes an issue that could cause web content to be displayed in greyscale instead of color

The update is available for both Mac and Windows and can be downloaded from the Safari website.

Mozilla has realesaded updated to both Firefox 3 and 3.5 yesterday, fixing several security and stability issues.

A full list of changes can be found in the Firefox 3.0.13 and Firefox 3.5.2 release notes.

Users of either browser should have the updated pushed out to them, or you can manually get the update by going to the help menu and selecting check for updates.

FirefoxMozilla has released Firefox 3.5.1 which fix several security and stability issues.

One security vulnerability is rated as critical, and could allow a remote attacker to gain control of a users PC.

Firefox 3.5.1 can be downloaded from the Firefox website, and will automatically be pushed out to existing Firefox 3.5 users. A full list of changes can be found in the release notes.

Just days after the release of Firefox 3.0.2, Mozilla has released Firefox 3.0.3. The new release fixes a single bug that stopped some users from accessing their stored usernames and passwords.

The bug itself was discovered within 24 hours of the previous release, and was patched much quicker than expected.
